AorakiPlay ("we", "us") explains how we collect, use, store and share personal information when you use aorakiplay.com and related services. This policy is intended to meet our obligations under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

What we collect
- Account data: name/username, email, login credentials (hashed), preferences, support messages.
- Usage & device data: IP address, device identifiers, browser/app info, pages/events, approximate location (from IP), cookies or similar tech.
- Optional purchases: payment status, transaction IDs, amount, currency, and payment method metadata from our payment providers. We do not store full card numbers or CVV.
- Compliance: records needed to prevent fraud, enforce terms, or meet legal obligations.
How we use your information
- Provide and operate the service (accounts, gameplay features, purchases, customer support).
- Improve performance, reliability, and user experience (analytics, debugging, feature testing).
- Safety and integrity (detect abuse, fraud, security incidents).

Security and retention
We use reasonable security controls (access controls, encryption in transit where available, monitoring). No method is completely secure. We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above, then delete or de-identify it unless we must keep it for legal, tax, or security reasons.
Your rights (NZ Privacy Act 2020)
You may request access to, or correction of, personal information we hold about you. We may ask you to verify your identity and may refuse requests in limited circumstances allowed by law. To make a request, contact our Privacy Officer using the details below.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (OPC): privacy.org.nz.
Children
Our services are not intended for children who are not legally able to consent to sharing their information. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate consent, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to address it.
